1947 – 2025

Mdm Tan Ah Mei was a beloved mother of three and a long-time resident of Tiong Bahru. For over 40 years, she worked as a seamstress in a small tailor shop on Ann Siang Road, serving generations of customers with meticulous craftsmanship and warm hospitality. Known for her infectious laughter and generosity, she often mended clothes for the elderly residents at reduced rates. After her husband passed in 1998, she raised her children independently while caring for her aging mother. In her later years, she enjoyed tending to her herb garden on her flat's balcony and sharing stories with her five grandchildren about Singapore's transformation. Mdm Tan passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication to her craft.

Late Mdm Poh **** *** was a gentle soul who found great joy and peace in sewing and embroidery work during her younger days. Her meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail reflected her patient and nurturing nature.

​Mr. Richard Tan was a long-time resident of the Redhill / Lengkok Bahru rental estate area. He passed away peacefully on 16th April 26 following a period of declining health. At the time of his passing, he had no active contact with family members, his remains have been handled in dignified. Farewell Mr Tan 🙏🏻

Late Mdm Goh **** **** passed away on 24th April 2026. Her life was one defined not by material wealth, but by a remarkable, quiet endurance. In a world that often overlooks the humble, Siew Ying moved through her days with a silent fortitude, navigating life’s greatest hardships with a dignity that remained unbroken until the end. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and very dear."

Every day at 8:00 AM sharp, you could find him at his usual corner table, a cup of kopi-o gau in hand. He was the group’s storyteller, debating everything from the latest government payouts to the "good old days" of the 1970s. ​The Signature Style: Always carried a folded newspaper and a small transistor radio. ​The Role: The mediator. When political debates got too heated among the uncles, George would crack a joke about his fading eyesight to break the tension. ​A Quiet Absence ​The neighborhood first noticed the silence on a Tuesday. The chair at the corner table remained empty. By Thursday, the "kopi kaki" grew restless. Calls to his mobile went straight to voicemail—a rarity for a man who always answered just to say he was busy eating. ​Worried, one of his closest friends decided to check on his flat.
